Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between one process colors and highlights?
One process color is color that is applied all over from roots
to ends. Highlights, or dimensional lighting, are applied with
foil or saran to achieve a blended natural effect or a more bold,
trendy look.
Is
it possible to perm color treated hair?
Yes, it is possible, but it depends on the condition and the elasticity
of the hair. Only a professional stylist can make this judgment.

I’m just starting to
go gray. How can I cover it without everyone noticing?
There are several options. For a first time color client, the most
natural approach would be a color wash with a non-ammonia, non-peroxide
product. These washes will gradually fade without any showing any
roots or regrowth.
Some examples are Goldwell’s Colorance,
Wella’s Color
Touch or xxx. Another option would be to highlight your hair by
weaving your own natural shade throughout your hair. This process
will camouflage
the gray without giving the impression that you colored your hair.
We provides a complimentary consultation for those considering
these
options.
How do I book a “color/highlight/haircut?” How
much time does it take?
When making an appointment for multiple services, please be specific
about the services you require so that we can book enough time
to meet your needs. If you are unsure about how much time each
service will take, please ask the receptionist.
I wear contacts.
Do I have to remove them for eyebrow waxing, tinting or facial?
While it is not necessary to remove them, you should do what is
most comfortable for you. Most people leave them in.
My hair has
static electricity, especially in the winter. Is there anything
I can do about it?
Using a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner will help. Ask
our stylists to recommend one. For a quick fix, spray your brush
or comb with hair spray before styling. Ionic brushes and blow
dryers make a big difference.
My scalp gets very dry and flaky in
the winter. Does anything help?
Moisturizing shampoos and conditioners that contain tea tree oil
will help control dry scalp. Try getting a deep conditioning treatment
at the salon several times during the winter months.
Are shampoos
really different?
Absolutely. Shampoos are formulated for different types of hair
and scalps. Your professional stylist can recommend the right one
for you.
Do I have to take “everything” off when getting
a massage?
The choice is yours. Some people like to leave an undergarment
on, while others are comfortable removing everything and getting
under the covers. A massage is done in complete privacy, and you
are completely covered with a sheet during the massage. Talk to
the massage therapist before booking an appointment if you have
questions. What is the risk of infection while getting manicures
and pedicures?
We minimize the risk in every possible way. After every pedicure
our spas are sanitized, and after every manicure the area is
cleaned and prepared for the next client. Our technicians disinfect
these
areas after each use. How much should I tip?
Typically, it’s 15–20% of your total bill. Shampoo
assistants generally get $1 to $2, when you are getting a hair
cut, and a dollar or two more if you are getting chemical service. |
